Prologue

We’re down to 9 crazed cyclists this year in our pursuit to dominate the Alps. Last year it was the Swiss Alps http://swisschallenge2009.blogspot.com/ . This year we take our attack to the French Alps. Obviously, this bravado doesn’t really befit a bunch of 50+ year old men, and it would be fair to observe we consistently talk a better game than we cycle. We’ll likely be crippled with cramps and begging for mercy well before we complete our itinerary. What can we say? It’s a man thing, or a cyclist thing, and we’ll still be grinning long after the pain subsides.
